It is realiably learnt that the Department is working out a proposal for effecting drawal of ad-hoc quantum of arrears to GDS on the following method.
20% of TRCA + DA as on 01.01.2006 X 38 months and payment of 40% of the calculations before 31.03.2009 towards arrears subject to adjustment of remaining amount after the implementation of GDS committee report.
The proposal is likely to be forwarded to the Ministry of Finance for approval after approval by the Honourable MOC&IT within a day or two. If approved by MOF, the Payment will be effected before 31.03.2009.
However as already pointed out in our web sites, the proposals of the Department of Posts on GDS Committee have been forwarded to the Honourable MOC&IT before submission to the Ministry of Finance.

i am a GDSBPM from tamilnadu. When will be these recommendations implemented?. If u know about the points calculation for the cash transaction for the BPM's please post it sir. will be reduced further from Rs.10,000.
Dear Comrade prathap - greetings - The proposals of the department mostly based on the report of the Gopinath Committee have already been submitted to the MOC&IT after cleared by the JS&FA. These proposals will go the Ministry of Finance and DOPT and then on to Cabinet. Implementation is subject to the decision of the Cabinet. However, as an interim measure, the department has submitted another proposal for payment of 40% of quantum arrived at by multiplying 20% raise of TRCA + DA as on 1.1.2006 by 38 months. We hope this 40% arrears payment will be made shortly after the acceptance by the Finance Ministry which is adjustable after the finalisation of implementation.
Resp Sir, IM GDSBPM from Gujarat, I want to know when will clear approval from Cabinet? and What the starting Pay Scale of BPM? Can we get the pay scale increment in April? please reply. Thanks...
Dear Comrades - As we are led to understand today by the Department that the proposals on GDS Committee have been submitted to the MOF - But the chances of completing the process in Ministry of Finance, DOPT, Cabinet and probably in the Election Commission might be consuming time. Therefore the possibility of implementation before completion of General Elections is highly remote. The Adhoc payment of arrears proposal is also still not gone to the MOF and therefore we are unable to comment on the possibility of getting any adhoc payment. This is also uncertain as at present.
