DOPT ORDERS ON ROASTER FOR DIRECT RECRUITMENT FOR PERSONS WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITY

DOPT LATEST ORDERS ON RESERVATION ROASTER OF ASSISTANTS WITH DISABILITIES
 

DOPT issued orders on 10th March 2010 directing all Establishments to prepare the Reservation Roaster Register starting from 1.1.1996 reminding all Establishments that since the Persons with Disabilities [Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rightsand Full Participation] Act, 1995 came into existence w.e.f. 1/1/1996
 
The above Act provides for Reservation of 3% vacancies for persons with physical disabilities in case of direct recruitment in selected Group A, B, C & D posts with a 1% of the 3% reservation to persons who are Blind, Hearing impaired and Locomotor / Cerebral Palsy vide the above Act.
 
To assess as to whether the above 3% reservation quota have actuall been filled up or not, the DOPT has now directed all Establishments to collect the data from 1.1.1996.

The above Act provides for Reservation of 3% vacancies for persons with physical disabilities in case of direct recruitment in selected Group A, B, C & D posts .This is a good decision so as to give equal opportunities to these sections.What about GDS cadre.I am eager to know wheter this Rule is applicable to GDS vacancies also

Dear Comrade - greetings - yes your observation might be correct as in my opinion this may not automatically be extended to GDS recruitment unless the GDS Recruitment Rules also incorporated with such a provision of reservation for persons with physical disability - We have to take up the issue in this direction - Regards
