Comrade K.Ragavendran Secretary General NFPE & Working President Confederation addressed meetings of Non-Gazetted Govt.Officers including Teachers; All India Radio Employees of Andaman & Nicobar Islands including Postal Workers on 17.02.2010.
Comrade D.Ayyappan General Secretary Non-Gazetted Government Officers Association and Chief Organiser of Confederation in Andaman & Nicobar Islands organised the meeting. Comrade S.C.Biswas President of the same organisation presided over the meeting. There are some peculiar anomalies for the Teachers and Non-Gazetted Officers after the 6th CPC viz., the Headmasters are placed at a lower level than the teachers by the Pay Commission; the LGC [Lower Grade Clerks] with +2 Qualification and who work as Data Entry Operators are placed in pre-revised 3050-4590 scale. The Working President assured to discuss their issues with the leadership of Confederation for solution.
A Meeting of Postal Employees of Andaman & Nicobar was organised on 18.02.2010 by the P3, P4 & GDS Unions of Andaman & Nicobar Islands under the leadership of Comrade Stephen Fernandez the Divisional Secretary of AIPEU Group C Union. The Postal Employees are facing some peculiar problems like unable to avail leave; difficulties in going to mainland for medical treatment etc. There is a large number of waitlist of officials for going to mainland under Rule-38. The Secretary General assured to take up some of these important issues.
