Sub: Request for enhancement of Bonus Ceiling to 3500/= without discrimination.
Respected Sir,
This Federation seeks your kind attention and intervention for grant of bonus on the basis of the enhanced ceiling limit under the Bonus Act as amended by the Parliament last year.
As you are aware, the calculation ceiling of Rs. 2500 was imposed in consonance with similar provision in the Bonus Act as is applicable to industrial workers. The said ceiling of Rs. 2500 was raised to Rs. 3500 by the Government and made applicable to the workers covered by the Bonus Act for the accounting year 2006-07 itself. We had taken up the issue both through correspondence and in the JCM Standing Committee immediately on promulgation of the ordinance raising the ceiling limit to make it applicable to Government employees. Unfortunately the bonus ceiling remain unchanged both in the Productivity linked bonus orders to postal employees as well as adhoc bonus orders for other CG Employees have not enhanced the bonus ceiling.
There are strong indications that Government is considering enhancement of ceiling as per the amended Bonus Act to the railway employees only while denying the benefit to other central government employees including postal employees. It is humbly submitted that such a serious discrimination might escalate greater resentment amongst the postal employees.
This Federation therefore your kind intervention in this volatile matter to ensure grant of PLB bonus @ 3500/= as per the Parliament amended bonus act for all without any discrimination.
Thanking you Sir,
Yours faithfully,
Sd/-
