INDIAN CAPITAL GETTING READY FOR MASSIVE STRIKE

DELHI GETTING READY FOR STRIKE

Delhi Circle - The Nation's Capital is getting ready for Strike on 20th August. The Confederation of Central Government Employees Co-Ordinating Committee of Delhi Circle is organizing day to day demonstrations and gate meetings intensively and extensively in different Central Government Offices. There was a very impressive lunch hour meeting in the Civil Lines Complex where the Postal Accounts of Delhi Circle, PSD, CSD, Delhi North Division SSPOs Office, Publications Department etc are situated on 6.8.2008. More than five hundred Employees including large number of Women comrades participated in the more than two hour long meeting in the front lounge of the complex. The Gathering was reacting sharply to the emotional speeches of the leaders and raised slogans for total participating in strike.

The meeting was anchored by Comrade Chauhan the Assistant General Secretary of All India Postal Accounts Employees Association. Comrades K.K.N.Kutty [Secretary General Confederation]; K.Ragavendran [Secretary General NFPE]; Ishwar Singh Dabas [General Secretary NFPE P4]; Giriraj Singh [General Secretary NFPE R3]; Vrighu Bhattacharjee [Secretary General Civil Accounts]; Geetha Bhattacharjee [Women Wing Convener of C-O-C] Kalpana Datt [Civil Accounts] and several other leaders addressed and called upon the employees to teach a lesson to the Government which is contemplating to deny our basic demand for modifications in the recommendations and also for postponing the date of effect of implementation by one or two years. The total Strike would be a warning to the Government against such retrograde moves.

The participation of large number of employees for more than two hours and the rapt attention with which they heard the leaders and the sharp reaction they showed in favour of participating in the strike showed clearly that Delhi Circle is heating up speedily and there is going to be a historic strike on 20th August 2008 in the Nation's Capital. A photo of the large gathering that turned up in the above meeting can be viewed on the left.
