Consequent upon grant of another installment of Dearness Allowance to the Central Government employees with effect from 1.1.2008 vide Govt. of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, New Delhi O.M. No. 1(1)/2008-E-II(B) dated 17.3.2008, the Gramin Dak Sewaks have also become entitled to the payment of Dearness Allowance at the revised rate w.e.f. 1.1.2008. It has, therefore, been decided that Dearness Allowance payable to the GDS shall be enhanced from the existing rate of 91% to 97% (Ninety Seven per cent) of Time Related Continuity Allowance with effect from 1.1.2008.
2. The additional installment of Dearness Allowance payable under this order shall be paid in cash to all Gramin Dak Sewaks.
3. The expenditure is debitable to the Head of Account 'Salaries' under the relevant Head and should be met from the sanctioned grant.
