No. PF-61/2019                                                                   Dated: 16th October, 2019

To
            The secretary,
            Department of Posts
            Dak Bhawan,
            New Delhi-110 001

Sub: Proposed merger of PSD into one for one circle – regarding

Ref: Letter No.  from ADG (MPP)  dated 1st Octoiber,2019.

Sir,
It is rather dismayed to note that there is a proposal for merger of all the Postal Stores Depots and to maintain one PSD for one Circle.

At present, the PSDs have been formed to cater the needs of the post offices based on the geographical connections and decentralisation was made in order to ensure immediate and quick supply of indents to the post offices. If it is reverted back once again, it will affect the efficiency in the supply. At present, the indents are supplied within the proximity of nearby offices and it saves the transit, time and fuel and save the expenses. Also, it will create problems in carrying the indents by mails and logistic to a longer distance by incurring more expenditure to the Department.
The existing arrangement is a time tested one and it need not be modified or cancelled now.

It is requested to drop the proposal if any and ensure the status quo and allow the time tested continuity of the PSDs as it is.

       Soliciting response,

                                                                                                    Yours faithfully,
                                                                                                     (R.N.Parashar)
                                                                                                Secretary General
