POSTAL SERVICES BOARD MEMBER PLI GOES ON VOLUNTARY RETIREMENT

POSTAL SERVICES BOARD MEMBER [PLI] GOES ON VOLUNTARY RETIREMENT

Dear Comrades - It is rather shocking to see that Dr.Uday Balakrishnan Postal Board Member [PLI] had applied for Voluntary Retirement and the same has been accepted and the Respected Member been permitted to retire from Service with effect from 5.8.2010. We came to know about this development from the website of Sahuliyat.com today.
NFPE leadership had an opportunity for the first time to attend a Work Shop organised by the PLI Directorate and participated by Dr.Uday Balakrishnan on 14.05.2010. The 'first impression is the best impression' is the famous say and accordingly Dr.Uday Balakrishnan impressed all the Staff Side Members on that day with his deep commitment and enthusiasm to take the PLI / RPLI to high places. His interaction after every staff side member presented his views was very accommodative and he shared the best points made by the Staff Side that showed that he is an open minded officer.
His decision to tender voluntary retirement and its immediate acceptance by the Government is most unfortunate since the Government and the Department of Posts would be losing his services as an invaluable Officer prematurely.
